This year I wanted to do something really different for christmas and so I decided to cross one thing of my bucket list and use the holidays to explore the magical temple complex of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. However, due to the holiday season I was pretty certain, that I would get kinda homesick and miss my family so all I could do ws to make sure to at least be miserable and sad in a nice environment. So after a little research and the help of a couple travel platforms I found the Bliss Villa, which basically offered everything that I was looking for at super affordable prices (i.e. 6 USD for a dorm and 15 USD and a double room).
This family-run Hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the night market and pub street, meaning that you can quickly get there to have a drink after exploring the temples but it is also quiet enough to have a good night sleep if you have to get up at 4 am in order to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat and nothing beats jumping in the little pool when you get home completly sweaty after biking through the temples all day. Oh and another thing is that the dorm room was super light and inviting and the beds were probably the biggest and most comfortable beds I have slept in during my trip so far. So please do yourself a favour and check out this place if you are planning to pay Siem Reap a visit.
